About Me

Growing up in Surrey, B.C., I began playing hockey before I was five years old. I have always had a passion for the game. At fourteen, I moved to Vancouver Island to pursue that passion and further my education.

I attended Shawnigan Lake School on the island, where I developed my talents on the ice and discovered new passions. While at Shawnigan, I played on the U15 Prep team, followed by playing for the U17 team the next season and then spent my last two years on the U18 Prep team. I was also a part of the Junior basketball team in my grade nine and ten years, winning team MVP in my 10th grade season. During the off-season, I played on the Shawnigan Rugby and Field Hockey teams.

My time at Shawnigan also allowed to me to discover some more educational interests. This was where I had my first writing spark. I was also able to continue with bilingual studies and eventually graduated with my Double Dogwood diploma.

Following my sports career at Shawnigan, I pursued junior hockey, playing in the BCHL and PJHL for the Surrey Eagles and Ridge Meadows Flames. Unfortunately, my junior hockey career ended earlier than expected due to injuries that forced me to miss my final two seasons.

Once my hockey career ended, I began my post-secondary education at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where I discovered my passion for writing in an ‘Intro to Journalism’ class that I took as an elective towards my accounting program. This led me to discover the broadcast and online journalism program offered at BCIT, and I decided to apply to pursue this newfound opportunity to do something I love.

My dream is to continue to use my love for writing, paired with my passion and knowledge for sports and scouting, to build my personal brand as well as work with other major media outlets and sports teams worldwide to provide scouting and player and game analysis.
